About The Frugal Socialite

Lucinda Anderson Hughes is known as "The Frugal Socialite". She is a credentialed newspaper and magazine journalist who "Can Live It Up on Colossal Cash or Coins." A graduate of The University of Maryland at College Park- Go Terps - Lucinda has degrees in Journalism and Spanish. Early on, she worked in the News and Advertising departments of The Washington Post, AOL, Monster.com and the Roanoke Times and World News. With an unyielding ambition and a taste of entrepreneurship, in 2004, Lucinda walked away from her enviable corporate position and leaped off a cliff to become a Freelance Writer and go full steam as The Frugal Socialite.

What started as an a routine research trip for The Frugal Socialite, with the hopes to write one story, evolved into Lucinda being known all over the world as the Procreation Vacation Mom! That launched her broadcast career in  2006 when she was featured on Associated Press, Good Morning America, Inside Edition & 600+ international outlets, as the writer experiencing the "Procreation Vacation".   She currently appears  as a Guest Travel Expert on WHUR FM,  Fox5 News, CBS/WUSA9 News and a host of other media outlets. . Focus: Food, wine, spa, events, shopping, cultural & luxury travel for diverse outlets.

In addition to being a published writer, Lucinda's passion for helping others,  led her to teach Spanish and ESL, with students ages 3 to 80, in America and China. In her "spare" time, she is a Mommy to The Frugal JuniorLite, Kemry III, who is her research partner on all things travel.  Lucinda holds an advanced certificate in cake decorating, plans Frugally Fabulous events and is a successful consultant.
